Sandford VE Day 80th Anniversary

VE Celebrations – The Parish will be hosting several activities to mark the 80th Anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe.

Thursday 8th May, 7.30pm
Sandford Parish Church will host a 45-minute concert by the Crediton Town Band, playing a selection of wartime favourites.

Saturday 10th May, 3.00pm
Sandford Parish Hall will be the venue for a 1940’s themed “Cream Tea” for Parishioners. Tea, Coffee and Squash will be provided along with fresh scones, clotted cream and jam (prepared the Devon way!). We would also like to invite budding cake bakers to bring along home baked cakes to share.

We are hoping host a display of Wartime memorabilia, so if anyone in the parish has photos or mementos that they are prepared to bring and to help create a display you would be most welcome. Louise Hooper will help co-ordinate the display on the day. There will also be prizes for the best wartime outfits, so please get dressed up!
